Ungkapan-Ungkapan Untuk Memberi Tawaran


Postingan kali ini adalah tentang expressions of making offer atau ungkapan-ungkapan untuk membuat tawaran. Untuk pembahasan tentang expressions of asking and giving suggestion (ungkapan-ungkapan untuk meminta dan memberi saran) bisa dibaca di sini.


Berikut beberapa ungkapan yang sering digunakan. Biasanya diawali dengan ungkapan "Would you like…?"


Would you like some more tea?

Would you like something to eat?

Would you like some help?

Would you like another cup of coffee?


Sedangkan jika kita yang menawarkan bantuan ke orang lain untuk melakukan sesuatu, kita dapat menggunakan ungkapan yang diawali dengan "Would you like me to…?"


Would you like me to send the letter?

Would you like me to make a cup of tea for you?

Would you like me to explain it to you?


Selain itu, kita bisa menggunakan ungkapan-ungkapan yang diawali dengan "Shall I …?" "May I …?" dan "Can I …?"


Shall I get you the book?

Can I do something for you?

Can I help you?

May I help you with this?



Accepting an offer

Jika kita bersedia menerima tawaran. Kita bisa menggunakan ungkapan-ungkapan berikut:


That would be very kind of you

Yes please. I’d like to

Yes please. That would be nice

Thank you. That would be great



Rejecting an offer

Akan tetapi, jika kita tidak bersedia menerima tawaran, kita dapat menggunakan ungkapan-ungkapan berikut:


No, thank you

No, thanks

It’s OK. I can do it myself

Don’t worry, I’ll do it myself

Dialog 1

Claire: You look tired. Would you like me to make you a cup of tea?


Bryan: Yes please. I'd love to.


Claire: By the way. What have you been doing?


Bryan: I was attending a workshop all day.


Claire: No wonder.



Dialog 2

Tim: Hi, how are you?


Sarah: I'm doing good. And you?


Tim: I'm doing good, too. Oh, do you remember tomorrow we are going to have a Math test?


Sarah: Yes, sure. I've been preparing for it.


Tim: I haven't made any preparation.


Sarah: Would you like some help?


Tim: No thanks. I plan to study for the test tonight.
